My First Nudge
The year was 1998. I was a young 20 something on a flight from Paris, France back to the US to celebrate Thanksgiving. On that plane, I met a man who shared the gospel with me and my life was changed forever!
In the very moment of my salvation I had the thought, “How can I tell everyone on this plane about Jesus?” I became an instant evangelist! I never heard a compelling message on evangelism, I just felt the “nudge” within my heart.
My thought process was simple – I have something amazing and I need to share it! (Tweet that!) If you are a child of God, I believe the Holy Spirit is actively, yes even daily, nudging you to do God’s work.
Fast Forward 10 Years
Ten years after my conversion experience, I felt another “nudge” in my heart to start writing. I developed my first website, Christian Growth Network, and started to share it with friends and family. In the first year, my website had just over 1000 visitors. Since that humble start, (Zechariah 4:10) the Lord has expanded my reach tremendously. My website has since reached over 100 countries around the world and over 165,000 unique visitors.
It all started because I responded to a simple nudge! (Tweet that!)
A New Nudge
The nudge I hear within my heart can be summarized in three simple words, “Feed My Sheep”. So now 7 years since the inauguration of my first website, I am launching my new blog, Discipleship Network. Similar to my website, you will find the same inspiring, Bible-based and Spirit led messages that God puts on my heart. Only now, you can participate in the conversation by posting comments, interact with others and asking me questions. (Learn more about the site).
What’s Your Nudge
While the details of our journey with God may vary greatly, the principle is the same. Holy Spirit knows how to “nudge” us in the direction of God’s will.
I believe Holy Spirit within you is nudging you too! If you quiet yourself before Him and meditate on his Word, you will hear his voice. (John 10:27) One thing is for certain, He’s Not Done Nudging!
Friend in Christ, “Do not quench the Spirit.” (1 Thessalonians 5:19) Respond to the soft and gentle prompting of the Holy Spirit and watch how God will use your life!
What about you?
